OMG The Zaadz Team Is So Cool !

Posted on Sep 11th, 2007 by Everett : Mountain Surfer Everett

It's no wonder they've built the finest LOHAS community in the world - The Zaadz team are some of the brightest and most down-to-earth people you'll ever meet.

Gaiam and Zaadz is a match that was meant to be. We've been meeting for days on end these last few weeks to discuss all of the great things we're going to be bringing to the Zaadz / Gaia community over the coming months, and I have never before experienced such honesty, idealism and competence as I have in these meetings.

Gaiam has a lot of exciting things going on right now, but none more exciting than the partnership with Zaadz. I know my fellow Zaadsters are more receptive to change, growth and progress than most. However, I would still like to send out a personal message to anyone who might stop by and read this little blog: Great things are going to come out of this partnership and the people who are working on the project are doing so farm their heart. I feel inspired to be a better person every time I walk out of a Gaiam / Zaadz meeting, which just goes to show the type of energy being shared amongst the new Gaia team.

I wholeheartedly welcome you all to our family.

Now it's time for me to get back to work so all of this idealism can actually come into fruition. Until next time...

Warmest Regards,

Everett

Our meetings together are like hanging out with Family…. family that is inspired to change the world.  The energy and passion coming together is amazing to be a part of.  There is a collective We that goes beyond anything I could personally envision.

Everett, your presence has been integral to the flow of great things.  We are all blessed to have your Zen like approach to SEO along with your heart and passion.

We can feel that we are flowing with such harmony and resonance when we flow into each others words and continually go beyond the I to a greater We… which was continually happening with these meetings.

I am blessed to have the opportunity to be an active part of this team.  I have very little question about what Zaadz / Gaia is doing to change the world… the interactions we are having are changing All our worlds already.  As the flow radiates… as it has already been radiating from with all the beauty in the Zaadz community, magnificent manifestations of Love and Light are uplifting conscious change in this world.

Peace,

Mark

Hee.

You rock, Everett. Thanks so much–and, as Mark put it, I'm so so so glad we're both part of the larger Gaia family.

I had the craziest experience at the hotel bar last night. Dave and I ran into a man who was sitting alone at the counter, and we started talking. Our new friend told me his 'real job' (when he wasn't doing IT management), was being a children's book author.

“But not just any sort of children's books. Mine have a message.”

“Really?” I asked, “What's that?”

“Well, I believe that every child has, contained within them, a certain unique purpose, and the job of the parents is not to push that child into some socially prescribed 'success,' but to help them discover what that purpose is–and to encourage them to follow that path.”

“Really.” I said. “Well, let me tell you about what we do…”

The world is magic, you know?

Siona,

That's a great story.

These magical interactions really do change the world.

Siona that's fantastic! Did he have a website, or some book titles or anything I can go have a look at? They sound like great gifts for my nephews and nieces. I really wish I had someone helping me figure out that sort of thing when I was younger, and am glad someone is writing about it.

It has always bothered me that we're going about the whole high-school to college thing backwards. I didn't start college until I was 25 and by then I was finished partying and ready to LEARN. While my fellow classmates were wrapped up in the new-found freedom from parents and practicing keg stands, I was in the library. I truly believe that, unless the student really wants to go at that time, parents should not pressure their children into going into college directly out of high school.

Anyway that's a beautiful story. And welcome to Colorado! Would like me to refer to you as a Coloradin or a Boulderite now? ;-P

His name was Dave; his first book is coming out this fall, I believe. I'll send on his email, though, as I'm sure he'd love to hear from you.

I like your approach to education. We're going to have SO much to talk about.

And Coloradan? Boulderite? What about just a Gaian? ;)

Gaian works for me :)

Everett,  I LOVE your thoughts on education.  I waited 2 years to go to college.  As you said it was a different experience and I think if I had waited until I was 25 it would have been an even more focused experience.  I recently read somewhere that the idea of the “gap year”,  taking a year off between high school and college, is growing in popularity in the U.S.

As I've gotten older I've shifted my awareness about education.  I strongly believe in the concept of lifelong learning… to continually learn about life and the world we live in.  Integrated with outside learning is learning about our inner being, ourself.  To blend the inner and outer experiencial, the being and the doing, masculine and feminine brings depth and wealth beyond words.

Learning and education is a  journey… not a destination.

We homeschool our children and flow the authors quote in Siona's comment above. We are assisting them to take a new world perspective on learning, allowing them to learn what they are passionate about, while informing their whole being.  A healthy integration of life and learning brings wisdom and joyful experiences compared to the compartmentalized learning environments I was raised with.
